Welcome to Bridge Bookshop, who can be found on the Isle of Man.

Our family run business is 46 years old this year, we have 2 shops at both ends of our island in the middle of the Irish Sea. We are the partner bookseller for our local literary festival @manxlitfest and we are currently planning our 8th festival which runs Sept 24th -29th 2019.

We asked all the bookshops to answer three Christmas questions:

1. What is your favourite Christmas book?

My favourite Christmas book is by Matt Haig and it is A Boy Called Christmas. This was my son’s book at bedtime November 2016 and I actually cried at the ending, so beautifully written.

2. What books should we look out for this December? Adult fiction, children’s fiction and non-fiction
Poems to Live Your Life By, illustrated by Chris Riddell
The Almanac A Seasonal Guide to 2019 by Lia Leendertz
The Truth Pixie by Matt Haig

3. Have you any events going on in December?
We are open Sundays until the end of the year 11am – 4pm and late night shopping is Wednesday December 4th in Port Erin and Fridays until 8pm in Ramsey.

If you want to help and support this blog and my other projects (Indie Publishers and Big Bearded Bookseller) you could become a Patreon which would help pay for my hosting, domain names, streaming services, and the occasional bag of popcorn to eat while watching films.

If you can’t support with a monthly subscription a tip at my Ko-Fi is always appreciated, as is buying things from my Ko-Fi Shop.

You can always email me on with any suggestions.
