News
Welcome to my first newsletter. There are some great offers from publishers and authors, and I take a look at some of my most anticipated new releases for the next couple of months.
The idea of this newsletter is for it to be a great resource for publishers and authors to share their deals and offers with independent bookshops, so I’ll be asking publishers and authors regularly for contributions.
I can be contacted at Twitter @IndieBookshopUK and by email contact@indiebookshops.com if you have anything you would like included.
Please share the link to this newsletter with anyone you think will be interested in the offers. If you would like to be first to see the latest offers subscribe to the website and you’ll be notified whenever a new post is published.

Dr Pragya Agarwal’s book came out last month, and has been getting great reviews. “Approaching the contentious issue of social bias with nuance and a broad range of exhaustive research, behavioural scientist, activist and writer, Agarwal demonstrates how unconscious prejudice is still immensely prevalent in contemporary society. Cogently argued and intensely persuasive, Sway is an enlightening account of how entrenched sets of stereotypes have become.“ Pragya is offering to send signed bookplates to Indie Bookshops and can be contacted on Twitter.. @DrPragyaAgarwal |
Laura Cumming is offering Indie Bookshops signed bookplates with the release of On Chapel Sands in paperback in April. “Shortlisted for both the Rathbones Folio Prize and the Baillie Gifford Prize for Non-Fiction, Laura Cumming’s singular memoir was one of the most critically acclaimed books of 2019. A deeply moving story of family and community that is striking and unforgettable, On Chapel Sands is part-true crime narrative, part-investigation into the subjectivity of memory and part-witness to a vanishing provincial way of life.“ Laura is offering to send signed bookplates to Indie Bookshops and can be contacted on Twitter. @LauraCummingArt |
