Welcome to The Grove Bookshop, who can be found at 10 The Grove, Ilkley.
Welcome to the Grove Bookshop, one of the north of England’s best-known independent bookshops. Situated in Ilkley, the gateway to the Yorkshire Dales, the Grove Bookshop is located along the tree-lined Grove, which offers a pleasant and relaxing shopping experience. This year, we are celebrating our 40th birthday!
The ground floor of the shop is a general bookshop which caters for all tastes. We also carry a wide range of Yorkshire books, from life in Bradford’s textile mills to the stunning photographic landscapes of the Dales. Our newly-expanded current affairs section includes the best new writing on politics, the environment and economics. We always have a wonderful selection of paperbacks – both fiction and non-fiction – included in our 4 for 3 offer. Perfect if you are going on holiday, or need a great gift.
We asked all the bookshops to answer three Christmas questions:
1. What is your favourite Christmas book?
The Jolly Christmas Postman
2. What books should we look out for this December? Adult fiction, children’s fiction and non-fiction
Have You Eaten Grandma? by Gyles Brandreth, Cassandra Darke by Posy Simmonds and Tombland by CJ Sansom.
3. Have you any events going on in December?
Moeen Ali at Leeds Grammar School on Monday 3rd Dec at 7.30pm, Sir Robin Knox-Johnston at Craiglands Hotel Ilkley on Wednesday 5th Dec at 7.30pm and Dan Snow at Bradford Grammar School on Friday 7th Dec at 7.30pm. All tickets £14/£10 (all part of Ilkley Literature Festival programme)
