“The Unauthorised Biography of Ezra Maas” fascinates me, the development of a seed of truth into a work of fiction. The enigma of an artist who just disappeared being fleshed out in a work of fiction, especially with the amount of effort that Daniel has put into researching the book.
Ezra Maas was a reclusive British artist of the 60s and 70s, but gradually withdrew from public life in the 80s and 90s and eventually disappeared altogether in the 2000s.
Daniel James‘ debut is a biography turned real-life detective story where the truth is far darker and more complicated than fiction.
“The Unauthorised Biography of Ezra Maas” is published by Dead Ink Books on the 15th of November and Daniel has several events in the North East at the end of November if you want meet him.
